Glad to see the Isles recognizing!

Will be reading and watching.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8023428805411384002.post-54987642358411576352007-09-30T16:54:00.000-04:002007-09-30T16:54:00.000-04:00Here's what I figure Isles goal production will be...Here's what I figure Isles goal production will be.. if these are the lines they keep....

FORWARDS

Guerin - Comrie - Fedotenko
30 35 25
(Fedotenko is a little generous, but I give him that because he IS on the top line.)

Tambellini - Vasicek - Satan
15 20 35
(Satan is in a contract year, could AT LEAST make his season high, Tambellini is a strecth being unproven, but if he's on the 2nd line, I would expect to him to notch around 15. Vacisek would be a season high by 3 goals, but again, 2nd line, more ice time, more goals.)

Hunter - Sillinger - Sim/Hilbert
25 28 20/20
(Not a stretch for anyone but Hilbert. But if he hit the net half the time he shot it, he would have had 20 last year.)

Simon - Park - Bergenheim
10 10 10
(Reasonable)

DEFENSE - (here is where we may be weak for offense, but I feel the Defensive aspect will be good. If Berard makes the team, it could make things interesting. Campoli is on a one-way contract, Gervais is 2-way, so he may be one to go down. I dont see Meyer in the mix. Bergeron obviously is the offensive force, Martinek can move the puck and is awesome on D, I would label Campoli and Gervais average movers of the puck)

Bergeron - Witt
15 3

Sutton - Martinek
5 5

Campoli - Gervais
5 5

Berard - 10 (if 7th D, or makes team as #6)

So this gives us 311 Goals! Thats pretty sweet. 3.79G/game
Last year (if my calculations are correct) the Isles had roughly 224... we're better! We would potentially have 8 - 20 goal scorers inlcuding 3 - 30goal scorers. With DP in net.. to become an elite goalie, Dubie backing up, the Isles are definitely going to be doing some sneaking up on the Atlantic division.

LETS GO ISLES!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8023428805411384002.post-53085867180188027912007-09-24T14:48:00.000-04:002007-09-24T14:48:00.000-04:00Thanks for the comments. Considering that three of the top eight hits leaders from last season were Islanders, I'd say that the results are a bit skewed in that category. Especially when Jordin Tootoo supposedly had 1/4 the amount of hits as Hunter. In fact, Freddy Meyer officially had more hits than Tootoo. Hunter is an effective player, but his inflated hit numbers have resulted in his becoming overrated.

Martinek is the Isles best all-around defenseman when healthy, and can even put up some numbers, but as far as fantasy hockey, I'd steer clear of him because of his injury history.

Sillinger and Witt aren't about to cause a fuss about the captaincy, but they had to have been disappointed by the team's gift to Guerin. At the very least, this could have waited until training camp when Guerin and the rest of the team got accustomed to one another.

Coming soon: a player-by-player run down with stat predictions.Tim Marinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08503319690560993541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8023428805411384002.post-82500160232451665992007-09-23T23:21:00.000-04:002007-09-23T23:21:00.000-04:00not a bad read. i think the guerin situation was h...not a bad read. i think the guerin situation was handled fine, i have seen that witt and sillinger were definately aware.

as of now it definatley looks like we have a surplus of forwards and couple extra d-men...im sure injuries will make that picture a little clearer.

good job rhombus, keep up the good work and good luck this season.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8023428805411384002.post-50234276719752319482007-09-21T21:11:00.000-04:002007-09-21T21:11:00.000-04:00On defense I agree that Radek Martinek is very pro...On defense I agree that Radek Martinek is very prone to injury, but if he stays healthy he is a good offensive defenseman and lets not forget that he has a good high plus minus rating. The weak link in defense will be either freddy meyers or berard.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8023428805411384002.post-76629051234071519922007-09-20T15:37:00.000-04:002007-09-20T15:37:00.000-04:00Tim Marino in the house blogging. If he can't be signed to extension then I would look to move him.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
